Green Lock FC have qualified for the semi finals of the maiden edition of the NLO Cup competition after another deserved 3-2 win against the home side, FC Sheika in Kano.

The Abuja based team once again showcased resilience, outplayed and outclassed their opponent in every department of the game in an intriguing display.

Goal scorer, Philip Onyedika said he is pleased and relieved to have contributed to the team’s qualification to the semi final. The gangling striker thanked his teammates for supporting him to score in today’s encounter and hoped that the semi final will produce more results for the team.

“This comes as a relief for me to have scored and qualified the team to the semi finals. I want to thank my teammates for their support, I pray and hope that the semi final will be better”

Green Lock FC scored all three goals in the first half of the game through Usman Abubakar, Enoch Eneche, and Philip Onyedika before FC Sheika found the back of the net twice in the second half to end the tie 3-2 in favor of Green Lock FC at regulation time.

All three players who registered their names on the score sheet for Green Lock FC have two goals each to their names from the group stage heading to the semi finals.

Green Lock FC remain unbeaten in the group games and secured maximum 9 points to book a semi final spot in their first appearance at a major tournament.
