The extraordinary journey of Green Lock FC towards the coveted trophy of the inaugural edition of the NLO cup ended in the semi final of the competition, as the team suffered a 3-1 loss to Tudun Wada FC on Wednesday evening at the Sani Abacha stadium, Kano.

It was the first defeat for the Abuja based team after carving a niche for itself as a brilliant football club, with the players giving a good account of themselves from the start of the tournament following a winning streak of three match unbeaten run in the group stages of the competition.

The game ended in a stalemate in the first 45 minutes, but Green Lock FC went behind by two penalties from handballs conceded by center backs in the 56th and 66th minutes.

Green Lock FC reduced the tally in the 73rd minute, but it wasn’t enough to get a good hold on the game, as Tudun Wada had one final stroke that broke the camel’s back to end the game 3-1 at full time.

The win sees Tudun Wada FC of Kano proceed to the final stage of the competition, where they will be locking horns with Palm Syrup, scheduled to take place on December 9, 2023, at the Bwari township stadium in Abuja.
