The management of Green Lock FC in a virtual media parley today revealed that it will be hosting a summer football tournament in July in order to give hope to talented football players with the right skills and determination who deserve the opportunity to advance to the next level.
The Green Lock FC Summer Football Tournament is scheduled for July 19th to 23rd at the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, and will be graced by FIFA-recognised club officials and agents from Europe and the Middle East to pick outstanding talents.
Engaging media personalities present at the virtual meeting, the Executive Vice Chairman of Green Lock FC, Olufunsho Peters, explained that the tournament is a further demonstration of the club’s resolve to revolutionise the recruitment game in Nigeria, leveraging technology and data.
The invited teams for the football fiesta, according to him, have been carefully selected based on key parameters such as the age requirement of 16–19 years, the track record of such clubs in their leagues, and the quality of their management, making up for teams who share the same developmental and business ideology as Green Lock FC.
Also at the parley was the Chief Operating Officer of Nationwide League One, Mr. Olusola Ogunnowo, who was full of praise for the passion and inventiveness of Green Lock FC, setting a standard in the Nigerian football ecosystem.
Ogunnowo pledged that NLO will continue to provide the necessary technical and administrative support to Green Lock FC and its events, revealing that its partner in the league, Sofascore, will provide real-time updates of the tournament globally.
